Pedestrian Killed By Metra Train Near Mount Prospect: Report

The incident at the intersection of Northwest Highway (Route 14) and Mt. Prospect Road is causing "significant delays" Friday night.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A pedestrian was struck by a Metra train late Friday afternoon west of the intersection of Northwest Highway (Route 14) and Mt. Prospect Road, according to Mount Prospect police.

Police said the incident, which occurred at around 2:30 p.m., is causing "significant delays." Metra confirmed the train involved is stopped at the scene, while other trains have been cleared for train movement as of 3:44 p.m.

NBC Chicago is reporting the pedestrian was killed in the incident. Patch is working to confirm this report.
