Pedestrian Struck, Killed By 2 Cars In Prospect Heights: Police
Elmhurst Road was closed for nearly six hours following the Tuesday evening incident.
PROSPECT HEIGHTS, IL — A 38-year-old man was killed Tuesday night following an incident involving two cars. The name and identity of the deceased has not been released by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
The incident and subsequent investigation closed Elmhurst Road for nearly six hours. Police are blaming the lighting condition in the area and dark clothing worn by the victim as major factors of the "tragic accident."
According to police, the man was walking at the intersection of Elmhurst Road (Route 83), just north of Robert Avenue, at around 8:15 p.m. The man was truck by an SUV driving south on Elmhurst Road. A second vehicle, traveling north on Elmhurst Road, also struck the deceased victim.

Police said both drivers have been cooperative with the investigation and neither has been issued a citation. The drivers were asked to submit blood for a toxicology analysis and both allowed investigators to review their cellphones.
