Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Train Near Mt Prospect: Medical Examiner
Metra service was delayed for several hours Thursday night following the incident.

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A person was struck and killed by a Metra train Thursday night near Mount Prospect. The incident, which occurred with train No. 674 around 9:30 p.m., delayed rail service for several hours.
The incident happened at East Prospect Avenue and South Albert Street.
The identity of the deceased has not been released as of Friday afternoon. The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled the death a suicide caused by multiple injuries, with time of death at 9:36 p.m.

UPNW inbound and outbound trains are stopped near Cumberland due to train #674 striking a pedestrian. Extensive delays are anticipated. Metra will provide updates as they become available.
