Police Identify Man Killed in Murder-Suicide at Motel 6

Police have identified the man they said killed a 41-year-old woman before taking his own life in a Motel 6 room.

Luis Antonio Nonato Velasquez, who had a last known address in Carol Stream, and his girlfriend, Cecilia Perez, 41, of Aurora, were found dead in the room at the Motel 6, 441 W. Algonquin Road, according to an Arlington Heights Police Department press release.

Police said both died of stab wounds/lacerations from a knife in an apparent murder-suicide.

Their bodies were found by hotel staff at about 1 p.m. on July 9 who entered their locked room and found a large amount of blood on the floor, according to the news release.
