Police Officer Battery, 2 DUI Arrests: Arlington Heights Blotter
Police also reported arrests involving retail theft, violation of an order of protection and possession of cannabis.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — An Arlington Heights man accused of aggravated battery to a police officer, two DUI arrests and a retail theft arrest are among the latest cases reported by the Arlington Heights Police Department.
The following information comes from Arlington Heights Police Department reports. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY TO POLICE OFFICER
Martin Zimmel, 46, of Arlington Heights, was arrested at around 10 a.m. Aug. 29 in the 300 block of East Rand Road.

Police charged Zimmel with aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, retail theft involving merchandise valued at $300 or less with a prior conviction, and criminal trespass to real property.
Zimmel was scheduled for a detention hearing and given a Sept. 17 court date in Rolling Meadows.

DUI
Glenn D. Aarici, 36, of Rolling Meadows, was arrested at around 2:29 a.m. Aug. 30 in the 400 block of East Palatine Road.
Police charged Aarici with DUI and DUI with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more. He was cited and released and given a Sept. 21 court date in Rolling Meadows.
DUI
Peter W. Thorstensen, 61, of Palatine, was arrested at around 1:07 p.m. Sept. 2 in the 1700 block of West Rand Road.
Police charged Thorstensen with DUI. He was cited and released and given a Sept. 28 court date in Rolling Meadows.
RETAIL THEFT
Kimberly Chihurura, 36, of Prospect Heights, was arrested at around noon Aug. 30 in the 1700 block of East Rand Road.
Police charged Chihurura with retail theft involving merchandise valued at more than $300. Her court date was set for Oct. 13.
VIOLATION OF ORDER OF PROTECTION
James E. Lutz, 73, of Arlington Heights, was arrested at around 4:53 p.m. Aug. 29.
Police charged Lutz with violation of an order of protection. He was scheduled for a detention hearing and given a Sept. 2 court date in Rolling Meadows.
DOMESTIC BATTERY
Michael William Reece, 52, of Arlington Heights, was arrested at around 8:40 p.m. Aug. 29.
Police charged Reece with domestic battery involving physical contact. He was scheduled for a detention hearing and given a Sept. 1 court date in Rolling Meadows.
CANNABIS POSSESSION
Samuel A. Randall, 18, of Wheeling, was arrested at around 6:30 a.m. Aug. 29 near Arlington Heights and Rand roads.
Police charged Randall with possession of more than 30 grams but less than 100 grams of cannabis. He was cited and released and given a Sept. 25 court date in Rolling Meadows.
REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE
Harold Castello Garcia, 50, of Belvidere, was arrested at around 3:19 a.m. Aug. 28 in the 2200 block of South Arlington Heights Road.
Police charged him with driving on a revoked license and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license or permit. He was also cited for improper lane usage, a muffler violation, speeding 15 to 20 mph over the limit and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
His court date was set for Oct. 6 in Rolling Meadows.
NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
Francisco J. Lopez-Tica, 49, of Atlanta, Georgia, was arrested at around 1:45 p.m. Aug. 28 near Algonquin and Briarwood roads.
Police charged Lopez-Tica with driving without having been issued a driver's license and operating a vehicle with canceled, suspended or revoked registration.
He was cited and released and given an Oct. 6 court date in Rolling Meadows.
UNDERAGE IMPAIRMENT
Bernardo Uriel Esteps Olivo, 19, of Rolling Meadows, was arrested at around 3:59 a.m. Aug. 29.
Police cited him for underage impairment under a public complaint ordinance violation. He was cited and released and given an Oct. 9 court date in Rolling Meadows.
WARRANT ARREST
Daniel G. Saldana, 42, of Schaumburg, was arrested at around 9:43 p.m. Aug. 31 in the 500 block of West Algonquin Road.
Police arrested Saldana on an in-state warrant for violation of bail bond. He was scheduled for a detention hearing.
SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE
Marinela Stip, 59, of Lake Zurich, was arrested at around 7:30 p.m. Aug. 31 near Rand and Dryden roads.
Police charged Stip with driving on a suspended license. She was cited and released and given an Oct. 9 court date in Rolling Meadows.
WARRANT ARREST
Rondon Torres-Alcuzier, 21, of Chicago, was arrested at around 9:05 a.m. Aug. 31 in the 1500 block of West Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove.
Police arrested him on an in-state warrant for violation of bail bond. He was given a recognizance bond.
