Presidents Day 2017: What's Open And Closed In Arlington Heights

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Like Columbus Day in October, Presidents Day — celebrated annually the third Monday of February — is one of those tricky national holidays that is hard to know which businesses and services are open and operating and which aren't.

Although it's a federal holiday, most retailers around the village will be open. But it's always idea to call ahead and check.

Schools: No classes for District 15, District 25, District 59, District 211 and District 214 schools.

Arlington Heights Village Government: The Village Hall and offices will be open, and the Village Board's regular meeting will be at 8 p.m. Feb. 20. State and federal government offices, however, will be closed.

Arlington Heights Memorial Library: The library will be open during its regular Monday hours.

Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.

Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.

Trash Pickup: Garbage collection service will not be affected by the holiday.
