Rescue Crews Respond To Car, Water Rescue In Schaumburg

CNSIA says rescue crews in Schaumburg responded to reports of a vehicle in water, possible drowning at Jones Road and Prince Charles Lane.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — Chicago Northwest Suburbs Incidents & Alerts say passengers inside a drowning vehicle Wednesday in Schaumburg were able to get out. CNSIA says fire department and EMS crews responded to a report of a vehicle in the water at Jones Road and Prince Charles Lane around 5:30 p.m. At the time of the report, CNSIA says it was unknown if the car was occupied, however fire department crews say a drowning rescue was cancelled when they saw the passengers out of the car and on the side of the road.

If you encounter flooded roadways, don't try to drive through the water — it could be deeper than it appears. "Most flood deaths occur in vehicles," the NWS said. "Turn around, don't drown."
