Construction is expected to start Monday on the busy thoroughfares.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that lane closures will occur along U.S. Route 12/Illinois Route 53 (Rand Road) in Arlington Heights for a resurfacing project beginning on Monday, July 6.
In order to complete the work, US 12/IL 53 traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction from Arlington Heights Road to Lake Cook Road. Lane closures will only occur during the daytime hours, according to the IDOT press release.
The project will be complete by October 15.
