Saint Viator Easter Egg Hunt Signals Spring is in the Air
A recent Easter Egg Hunt at St. Viator included more than 200 families and 3,200 eggs.
Ready, set, go! With that, hundreds of children made the dash to uncover eggs filled with candy and prizes at Saint Viator’s recent Easter Egg Hunt. Adults took cover.
Student Council members worked to fill 3,200 eggs for the event, including a special golden egg for each age group, with the winner claiming a stuffed animal for their efforts.

This was the 11th year that Saint Viator’s Student Council members organized the festivities as a way to reach out to neighborhood children.
“It’s always well attended,” said JoAnne Francis, student affairs director and moderator of the Student Council. “It draws neighbors, faculty and their children, and alumni.”

Many of the Student Council members remember attending the event themselves when they were younger, and now they aim to make it just as memorable for their guests. The day boasted games, balloons, crafts and photos with the Easter Bunny.
Seniors Justice Johnson of Hoffman Estates and Conor Kinasz of Des Plaines led the event as Inter-Class Council co-presidents along with co-vice presidents Colleen Drolet of Inverness and Santiago Sordo-Palacios of Arlington Heights. In all, 120 class representatives helped plan the Easter party.
They drew more than 200 families, making it one of the best attended hunts in recent years. With Easter baskets in hand and bright outfits to match, little ones made their way through the different game stations.
The biggest hits? The balloon artist drew long lines, as did the cakewalk, as tots vied to win homemade cookies and cupcakes. At craft tables, children worked with Saint Viator students to plant sunflowers and decorate bunny ears before having their faces painted.
“We love having children and their families here,” Francis says. “We hope they leave impressed with the event put on entirely by our students.”
