School Board Candidates Continue Filing In Arlington Heights

Petition filing for next year's election began Monday and continues through Dec. 19 in Illinois.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — With several days left in the official filing period, local candidates have begun filling out their petition packets with the Cook County Clerk's Office for next year's consolidated election in Illinois.

The clerk’s office will be open to receive petitions on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Monday, Dec. 19. The consolidated election is scheduled for April 4, 2023.

As of Thursday, in Township High School District 214, five candidates have filed to run for a four-year seat on the school board, according to the Cook County Clerk's Office. Dan Petro, whose current term ends in 2023, is not seeking another term. Candidates who have filed so far are:

  • William Dussling, current president (term ends in 2023)
  • Alva Kreutzer, current member (term ends in 2023)
  • Elizabeth Bauer
  • Misa Edwardsen
  • Frank Fiarito

As of Thursday, in Arlington Heights School District 25, five candidates have filed for a four-year seat on the school board, according to the Cook County Clerk's Office. Candidates who have filed so far are:

  • Brian Cerniglia, current vice president (term ends in 2023)
  • Scott Filipek, current member (term ends in 2023)
  • Elizabeth Nierman
  • Maria Zeller Brauer
  • Kevin Michael
