School Bus Crashes On Interstate Near Elk Grove Village: Police

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL — A school bus carrying students and administrators crashed on Interstate 290 near Interstate 390 Monday afternoon, according to Illinois State Police. One adult was taken to an area hospital with injuries. No students were hospitalized with injuries.

Police said the crash, involving the bus and a Jeep Grand Cherokee, occurred at around 11:26 a.m. The bus, contracted by the Mount Prospect Park District, was carrying 51 students and seven adult administrators.

Both the Elk Grove Village and Itasca fire departments responded to the scene. The students were placed on another bus for transport. There is no additional information to share at this time.
