ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A "serious crash" is slowing traffic Wednesday afternoon on Illinois 53, according to Illinois State Police. The crash occurred in the southbound lanes near Palatine Road. ISP sent out a traffic advisory regarding the crash on social media at around 1:30 p.m. The left two lanes of traffic will be shut down for an extended period of time, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/ISPTroop3" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">according to the post</a>. "Slow down and move over as you approach the area," police said. "Expect delays."
