Shooting Shuts Down Several Roadways, 1 Hospitalized: Schaumburg PD

There was a large police presence in the area of Algonquin and Meacham roads following the Tuesday afternoon incident.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — One person was hospitalized, and several roadways were closed for nearly five hours, following a shooting Wednesday afternoon in the 1100 block of Algonquin Road.

The shooting involved two males, who police said were known acquaintances. One was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition. Police said there was no indication of threat or danger in the area, determining the incident was isolated. An investigation is ongoing.

At around 3:30 p.m., police responded to the area for a gunshot victim. There was a large police presence in the area of Algonquin and Meacham roads. Drivers were asked to seek alternative routes. The roadway reopened at around 8:20 p.m.
