Shots Fired As Dog Walker Thwarts Car Theft In Mount Prospect: Police

MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A homeowner walking their dog was shot at by two suspects attempting to steal a car Thursday morning, according to police. The incident occurred in the 100 block of S. Ioka Avenue.

Police said the homeowner interrupted the attempted car theft. No injuries have been reported.

The suspects fled in an unknown vehicle. In a social media post, police said they believe the incident was isolated and there is no current threat to the area.

Police described the investigation as being in the "beginning stages."
