Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill Expands with First Chicagoland Location

Full-Service Bar and Fire-Grill Restaurant to Open in Mount Prospect July 2015

Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill will open the doors to its 66th location on Monday, July 13, with the restaurant brand’s first opening in the Chicagoland area. Located within the Randhurst Village shopping center in Mount Prospect, Ill., the Randhurst Smokey Bones will offer its trademark house-smoked food selections and expansive beverage menu in a refreshed, newly-designed dining atmosphere that sets it apart from other locations.

“We are thrilled to continue our steady brand expansion into the Chicago market,” says Christopher Artinian, president and CEO of Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill. “Our Randhurst location will offer dining guests the bold, untraditional dining experience that our restaurants are known for, but in an evolved concept that incorporates everything from contemporary interior design elements to an innovative beverage menu. Chicagoland is synonymous with great food, and we’re proud to be opening our newest restaurant here in this vibrant shopping and entertainment center.”

Prior to joining Smokey Bones, Artinian led Morton’s Restaurant Group, Inc. as president and CEO, guiding Morton’s The Steakhouse’s growth to become the largest fine dining brand in the world. In early 2012, Sun Capital Partners, Inc. brought in Artinian to refresh the Smokey Bones brand. In recent years under Artinian’s direction, Smokey Bones has established itself as the choice location for food, drinks, and fun—providing a bold and entertaining atmosphere that allows them to rise above the casual dining clutter. Artinian also hold special ties to the Chicago area, as a resident of Winnetka, and former member of the Young Presidents’ Organization Chicago Chapter.

Executive Chef Jason Gronlund, who serves as vice president of culinary for Smokey Bones Bar & Fire, is also excited to see the brand create an established presence in the Chicagoland area. “Coming to the Chicago metro market makes sense for our brand, as the city has steadily evolved into a true dining destination,” says Gronlund.

Smokey Bones prides itself on its hand-rubbed, slow-smoked BBQ dishes, which are prepared in-house in a variety of regional styles, with standouts including St. Louis Ribs, Texas-Style Beef Brisket and Memphis Dry Rub. Beyond BBQ, guests can also indulge in an array of signature items that cater to all tastes, including Smoked Wings, a fire-grilled Build Your Own Burger menu, chicken and seafood entrees, and hearty sandwiches. Dining guests at the new Randhurst Smokey Bones will also be treated to an expanded beverage menu, featuring a new line of summer cocktails, a large selection of local craft beers and custom beer flights.
