Southern Cooking: Beyond Fried Chicken and Grits
Cooking demonstration, tasting part of Southern food program.

In anticipation of the release of Harper Lee’s new novel, Go Set a Watchman, come enjoy a Southern cooking demonstration and tasting. Executive Chef Doug Yeomans, owner of Tarragon Catering, will treat us to delectable dishes reminiscent of the Alabama setting of Harper Lee’s novel. Attendees will also receive recipes to keep. Samples of both main dishes and desserts will be available to attendees.

Also join us for “Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman Discussion” Tuesday, August 18, 10-11:00 a.m. in the fireplace area of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library.
Join us to discuss Harper Lee’s new book “Go Set a Watchman.” The book begins with Scout’s train ride home and then catches us up on what paths Harper Lee’s beloved “To Kill a Mockingbird” characters have taken over the past 20 years.
