St. Paddy's Day 2024: Ways To Celebrate Near Arlington Heights
It looks to be a fun filled weekend with the green holiday falling on Sunday this year.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Whether you're Irish all year round, or just for a day, there's plenty going on in the Arlington Heights area for St. Patrick's Day this year. With the holiday falling on a Sunday, many are celebrating all weekend.
While the green dying of the Chicago River often gets the most attention, it would be a mistake to think there's no other things to do. Here are a few ideas for the Arlington Heights area:
- St. Patrick's Day Weekend, March 15-17, Peggy Kinnane's Irish Restaurant & Pub, 8 N. Vail Ave., Arlington Heights. Irish dancers, bag pipes, along with food and drink.
- St. Paddy's Weekend, March 15-17, Beacon Tap, 1374 Lee St., Des Plaines. Live music, food and drink specials all weekend.
- St. Patrick's Day Parade, 11 a.m. March 16, Palatine. Durty Nellie's, in partnership with Vicarious Multimedia, honors the holiday with the annual all-things-Irish festivities and celebrations, including a Traditional Irish Breakfast, Durty St. Pat's Parade and an epic after party.
- St. Patrick's Day Party — Jimmy D's District, 1718 Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights. Live music with Dill Spears at 7 p.m. March 16. Great food and drinks all weekend.
- Irish Meal at the American Legion — noon to 5 p.m. March 17, 121 N. Douglas Ave., Arlington Heights. Stop by the Merle Guild Post 208 for a delicious St. Patrick's Day dinner, or place an order ahead. Offerings include corned beef, cabbage, carrots, potatoes and rye bread.
