State Rep. Mary Beth Canty (D-Arlington Heights) will display the winning artwork in her district and Springfield offices.
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — It's time for local students in kindergarten through eighth grade to get out their paintbrushes. State Rep. Mary Beth Canty (D-Arlington Heights) is hosting an art contest for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
The winning artwork will be displayed in Canty's district and Springfield offices as part of "Mary Beth's Rotating Art Museum," according to a news release.
"Our community is full of creative, talented young people, and it's important that we support and encourage their creative pursuits to create well-rounded adults. This competition is a fun way to do that and introduce children to government and public service," Canty said. "The wellbeing and success of our community's children is so important, and their artwork will act as a constant reminder of my commitment to them."
