Teen Shot, 3 In Custody Following Hoffman Estates Shooting: Police

A 17-year-old male was taken to Lutheran General Hospital with a gunshot wound following the Wednesday night incident, according to police.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL — A 17-year-old male is in stable condition at an area hospital after being shot Wednesday night, and three suspects are in custody, according to the Hoffman Estates Police Department. Police said charges are pending as an investigation into the isolated incident continues.

An 18-year-old male, who was a passenger in a car involved in the shooting, suffered a gunshot graze wound to his back. He was treated and released from Lutheran General Hospital before being taken into custody by police.

At around 8:18 p.m., police received a 911 call about a person being shot in the 1700 block of Queensbury Circle. When police arrived at the scene, a car had fled the area.

Police found the 17-year-old male lying on the lawn with a gunshot wound to his chest and leg. Police provided first aid until paramedics arrived, and he was taken to Lutheran General Hospital.

During the subsequent investigation, police responded to local hospitals, checking for any other potential gunshot victims. While at Lutheran, they found a vehicle with multiple bullet holes in the parking lot. Officers were then able to locate the 18-year-old male.
