Tore & Luke's Abruptly Leaves Arlington Heights; Customers Left With Questions, French Fry Cravings
The longtime fast food spot recently closed its location in the village, and officials still don't know what prompted that decision.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — A fast food mainstay in the village has unexpectedly shut its doors, leaving many customers with a head full of unanswered questions and a belly full of unsatisfied french fry cravings.
Last week, Tore & Luke's closed its Arlington Heights location at 1350 E. Rand Road after almost 30 years in the village, according to the Arlington Heights Post. This week, a "for sale" sign was hanging in the restaurant's window, as well as sign encouraging customers to visit the Palatine location at 1960 Rand Road, which is still open, the report added.
However, a review dated Jan. 2 that was posted by user paul a. on Yelp noted that Tore & Luke's in Arlington Heights had closed:

"Sadly this location is closed.
"We really enjoyed the occasional hot dog and excellent fries. Other locations are too far to continue being a customer
"So long!"
The fast food joint's Arlington Heights customers weren't the only ones surprised by the closing. Tore & Luke's owners did not contact the village in advance of shutting down the location, and officials are unsure about the reasons prompting the decision, the Post reports.
Competition from other eateries in the area might have contributed to the closing, according to The Arlington Cardinal. Tore & Luke's was a popular lunch hangout for John Hersey High School students, but in recent years, it had to contend with similar businesses closer to the school, such as Jimmy John's, Dairy Queen, Freshii and others, the report added.
