Dump Truck Spills Dirt On Roadway Causing Rollover Crash In Schaumburg: Illinois State Police

SCHAUMBURG, IL — Traffic was snarled Monday morning following a rollover crash caused by a truck spilling dirt onto the roadway in Schaumburg. Illinois State Police said the Higgins Road ramp to Interstate-290 southbound was shut down for an extended period of time.

In a social media post shared at 8:42 a.m., ISP said troopers are on the scene and motorists should seek an alternate route. The Village of Schaumburg said all lanes of traffic onto Route 53 were closed at West Frontage Road, with police and fire units on the scene. They have since reopened, according to the Village.
