Vandals Damage Homes, Businesses, Parks in Recent Days

In some cases, the offender entered a home or business in Arlington Heights and caused damage.

 Arlington Heights police are investigating several reports of criminal damage to homes, businesses and parks in the village in recent days and also one home burglary.

Here is a look at some of those reports:

  • Nov. 23: An unknown offender(s) entered a home in the 2600 block of North Phelps Avenue between 5 p.m. on Nov. 23 and 8:22 a.m. on Nov. 24 and damaged the concrete basement floor. Cost to repair the damage is unknown. There were no signs of forced entry.
  • Nov. 25: Unknown offender(s) entered the victim’s home in the 1100 block of East Algonquin Road and removed cash and jewelry at some point between 8 p.m. on Nov. 25 and 8 a.m. no Nov. 26. There were no signs of forced entry.
  • Nov. 25: An unknown offender(s) entered a business and damaged glass windows at New Generation Technology, 116 S. Arlington Heights Road, between 5 p.m. on Nov. 25 and 10:08 a.m. on Nov. 28. The cost to repair the damage is unknown. It appears nothing of value was taken.
  • Nov. 25: Unknown offender(s) damaged several walls and business signs with black, red and blue spray paint in the 3400 block of North Arlington Heights Road and the 100 block of West Boeger Drive. The cost to repair the damage is unknown. The damage occurred around 12:48 p.m. on Nov. 25.
  • Nov. 28: Unknown offender(s) damaged the spindles on the gazebo at Festival Park, 301 W. Hawthorne, at about 11 a.m. o;n Nov. 28. Cost to repair the damage is estimated at $50.
