Vintage Garage Chicago May 15th

Record numbers and Mid Century at the Vintage Garage

The first Vintage Garage of the 5th season brought with it amazing vintage and an increase in average attendance of almost 1000 people!

With Mid Century Modern as the focus of the May 15th Vintage Garage, they are again expecting record crowds.

"I’ve never seen a bigger line, it was thrilling!!" says Melissa Sands of Vintage Promotions, LLC. "We are excited the season has gotten off strong and Mid Century is so popular, I anticipate another big market May 15."

Increasing popularity has also meant increasing prices in this all things from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s however Sands says it's still affordable, especially when compared to the quality of today.

"Mid Century Modern is hot” Sands says. "There are so many directions you can go with it. The late 40’s and 50’s felt more kitsch and grew into something more sleek in 1960’s.”

“Mid-Century in the United States left it’s mark on everything. From clothing and furnishings to homes and cars. It was a lifestyle. Says Sands, I don't see us trending away from modernism for a long time, Mid-Century decor is perfect for small urban spaces."

Vintage Garage Chicago is held on the 3rd Sunday of the month April through October. This
