Violent Crime Increases in Arlington Heights: FBI Report
The FBI has released the 2014 Unified Crime Report.

The FBI recently released its annual ”Crime in the United States” report, which includes information about Arlington Heights.
According to the report, Arlington Heights saw 43 violent crimes in 2014, which is up slightly from 2013 when there were 42 reports of violent crimes in the village. Violent crime includes offenses involving force or the threat of force: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery and aggravated assault, according to the FBI.

Of the violent crimes in 2014, there were four rapes, 12 robberies and 27 aggravated assaults. Other crime stats for Arlington Heights include 743 property crimes, 134 burglaries, 588 reports of larceny/theft and one arson.
Nationally, violent crime decreased last year by 0.2 percent from 2013, according to the report.
