Weed Man USA Honors Arlington Heights Entrepreneur with Awards

National Lawn Care Franchise Honors Brandon Burns with Award of Excellence and Marketing Performance Award for Overall Growth Achievement

Weed Man USA, the largest franchised lawn care company in North America, named local entrepreneur Brandon Burns of Weed Man Arlington Heights as the company’s 2017 Award of Excellence winner and Marketing Performance award recipient for over $1.5 million.

Presented this year at the company’s recent annual conference, the Award of Excellence recognizes Brandon Burns and co-owners Daniel Davis and Michael Brown with the highest internal honor a Weed Man franchisee can receive. It symbolizes operational excellence and a significant milestone that can only be achieved through years of meticulous planning and execution. They were also acknowledged for the proficiency of their sales and marketing strategy.

“Brandon and his team have always made strides to improve the customer experience and in doing so have grown significantly through a consistent marketing plan. We were not surprised that they took home the top award,” said Jennifer Lemcke, COO of Weed Man and Turf Holdings, Inc. “The Arlington Heights crew has never settled for mediocrity and we’re honored to have them set an example to other Weed Man franchisees.”

The team’s motto for the year was “Leave No Doubt”. Every employee knew they wanted to take home the Award of Excellence. Brandon found success by building a team that is driven by the end goal. By placing an emphasis on the employee brand, everyone who joined the team knew how they were going to grow with the company and work their way up to higher positions and leadership roles. Before Daniel and Michael became shareholders, Daniel started as a Manager in Training and Michael was a Sales Manager. Weed Man does more than just provide a foot in the door to the $82 billion lawn care industry, but rather gives hardworking individuals growth opportunity with open book management and a laid out plan.

“If you invest in your employee’s future, they will reciprocate with dedication and loyalty to join you in every effort to move the needle for the business,” stated Burns. “The team in place stuck to the business plan and between everyone’s work ethic and the marketing tools that led us to quick adjustments, we had no doubt that the award would be ours.”

The theme of this year’s conference focused on the power of people, process and performance. With more than 45 years in the lawn care industry, Weed Man USA’s success stems from the relationship between these three components. The people build and enhance the processes, the processes keep the business running like a well-oiled machine and the network’s exceptional performance encourages the retention of top talent as the business grows. This year was extra special with the company announcing their $100 million milestone earlier this year. Looking forward, Weed Man USA continues to rely on the tried tested and true business model while rolling out new solution-oriented strategies and integrating new technology in 2018.
