Wheeling Man Charged With Sexual Assault Of 2 Children: Palatine PD

The abuse, involving two family members, occurred in 2016 and 2018, according to police.

PALATINE, IL — A Wheeling man has been charged with two counts of felony predatory criminal sexual assault of a child after one of the victims came forward earlier this month. Alan I. Diaz-Suarez, 37, of the 300 block of N. Inland Avenue, was arrested last week.

Diaz-Suarez, who appeared in court Tuesday, is being detained in the Cook County Jail until his next court appearance on Feb. 21.

Police opened an investigation when one of the victims reported abuse that occurred in Palatine in 2018. The second victim, a family member of the first, came forward with allegations of abuse in 2016, also in Palatine.

Diaz-Suarez was identified as the suspect in both cases. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office approved the felony charges.
