Wheeling Township Property Tax Appeal Window Closes Friday

The appeals process with the Cook County Assessor started on Oct. 5.

WHEELING TOWNSHIP, IL — Residents in Wheeling Township have one more day to file property tax appeals with the Cook County Assessor. For residents looking for guidance and assistance with the appeal process, the Wheeling Township Assessor's Office can help through Friday.

The office has been assisting residents for 2021 appeals since Oct. 5. The preferred method for filing appeals is online and can be found here. Forms are also available in the red information box at the rear of the Wheeling Township building at 1616 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.

The Wheeling Township Assessor's Office will research comparables and file the appeal electronically with Cook County Assessor, according to its website. A decision letter will be mailed to the property owner a few months after the closing date. If the assessed value is reduced, it will be reflected on the 2021 Second Installment Tax Bill payable in 2022.
