Will Big Ange's Finally Open This Summer in Arlington Heights?
The restaurant, which was approved in 2013 to fill the spot vacated by Jimmy's Place, could start serving in a few weeks, the owners say.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL—It's been years in the making, but it appears that Big Ange's Eatery will finally open its doors this summer.

The Daily Herald's Melissa Silverberg is reporting that the hot dog and sandwich spot that was approved in 2013 to take over the 640 W. Northwest Hwy., storefront vacated by Jimmy's Place in 2011 will start serving customers in a few weeks, according to the owners John and Angelina Fridono, and John's dad, Rocco.

Why such a long delay? The Fridonos told the Herald that finalizing the deal for the restaurant took a year, and remodeling the location to bring it up to code last about two years.
According to its page on the Arlington Heights Chamber of Commerce website, the restaurant hopes to become a community staple in much the same way its predecessor at the spot, Jimmy's Place, was:
