Woman Dies From Gunshot Wound To Head In Palatine: Police

PALATINE, IL — A 42-year-old Palatine woman, who was found by police Saturday with a single gunshot wound to the head, was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital. Police said there are no known threats or safety concerns to the public related to this incident.

Police responded to the 1700 block of N. Hicks Road at 11:26 p.m. Nov. 29, for a well-being check. The Palatine Fire Department took the victim to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead early Sunday morning.

Palatine police are continuing to investigate the incident.
