Woman Found Dead With 'Multiple Stab Wounds To The Neck' In Schaumburg

The body of the 24-year-old woman was discovered Wednesday evening in her apartment after police responded to a 911 call.

SCHAUMBURG, IL — A 24-year-old resident was found dead in her apartment Wednesday evening, according to Schaumburg police. Yvonne Lattouf-Delgado died as a result of multiple stab wounds to the neck, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The Schaumburg Police Department does not believe there is a risk to the public following the incident.

Police said Thursday initial evidence has led detectives to determine the victim possibly knew the offender. No one was in custody in the slaying as of Friday morning.

Police were called to the 1000 block of N. Plum Grove Road at around 9 p.m. Wednesday, following a 911 call for well-being check. The woman's body was discovered after police entered her apartment.

Schaumburg police detectives describe the investigation as "open and active," and are being assisted by the Major Case Assistance Team to "further ensure all resources are being utilized" in the investigation. Police said additional patrol officers and detectives are currently in the area speaking with residents.
