Woman Hits Self On Shelf, Blames Male Acquaintance: Des Plaines PD
The 28-year-old Des Plaines resident is facing a felony charge of disorderly conduct.

DES PLAINES, IL — A Des Plaines woman has been charged with felony disorderly conduct following an incident last week in which she injured herself, but filed a police report against a male acquaintance, blaming him for the incident. Cydney Webb, 28, of the 200 block of Dover Drive, was arrested Tuesday after telling police she had hit herself in the face on a shelf.
After her arrest, Webb was released and assigned a future court date.
On Jan. 10, police responded to the 200 block of Dover Drive for the original report of a battery happening at Webb's residence. According to police, Webb said she had been struck by a male acquaintance in the face, causing her nose to bleed. She said the male had since fled the home.

Police learned Webb had taken herself to a local hospital prior to calling 911, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
On Jan. 11, the male was located and taken to the Des Plaines Police Department for a follow-up. During a subsequent investigation, police learned from the male and through text messages that Webb had hit her own face on a shelf inside the home. The male was released from police custody.

Webb was taken into the police station Tuesday and admitted she had done the injury to herself, but at the time claims she didn't remember.
