Workers Find Body In Schaumburg Pond: Police

SCHAUMBURG, IL — Workers were cleaning a pond at Algonquin Road and Parkside Drive Friday afternoon when they discovered a man's body, police said.

Schaumburg police said at around 2 p.m., they were notified that the workers saw "an object that resembled a human body" floating in the pond.

Police and fire units responded and were able to recover the body, which police said is that of an unidentified man.

Detectives are conducting a death investigation and have notified the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police said the man is possibly middle-aged and was wearing a dark-colored hooded coat. His race was unknown, according to police, who said no further description was available Friday evening.
