Your 3rd Spot To Open First Illinois Location At Schaumburg's Veridian

SCHAUMBURG, IL — A dining and entertainment concept combining small plates, cocktails, games and bowling is planning its first Illinois location at Schaumburg's Veridian development.

AMP Up1 Hospitality announced this month that Your 3rd Spot is expected to open in 2028 within the 30-acre retail district now under construction at Veridian, the 225-acre mixed-use redevelopment of the former Motorola campus.

The two-level Schaumburg venue will be the company's second U.S. location. Your 3rd Spot opened its first location in Atlanta in 2022.

The concept combines chef-driven food and drinks with entertainment including analog and retro games, nine-pin bowling, challenge rooms, select arcade experiences and other interactive activities.

An outdoor area is also planned, with cabanas, fire pits and gathering spaces.

Families will be allowed during designated daytime hours before the venue transitions to a 21-and-older environment in the evening, according to the company.

"Some of the best nights begin around a table, sharing food, trying new flavors, and spending time with people you care about," Josh Rossmeisl, founder and chief vision officer of AMP Up1 Hospitality, said in a statement.

Rossmeisl said the company designed the concept so guests could move from dinner into games and other activities without leaving the venue.

The Schaumburg location will also host private events and corporate gatherings and offer a membership program with special programming, early access to new experiences and other benefits.

Company officials pointed to Schaumburg's combination of residential neighborhoods, businesses and tourism as a factor in choosing the site.

Rossmeisl specifically cited the nearby Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center and the broader Chicago area’s entertainment market.

The project will be led in part by Erin Callahan, senior vice president of operations and a managing partner with AMP Up1 Hospitality. Callahan lives near the Schaumburg site and has worked with Rossmeisl for more than 25 years.

"Hospitality becomes personal when it is happening in your own community," Callahan said. "This is where my family lives and where my children will grow up."

Part Of Veridian Expansion

Your 3rd Spot is the latest tenant announced for Veridian’s retail-focused district, which is intended to add shopping, restaurants, housing and year-round programming to the development.

The Fresh Market is expected to anchor the district and is on track to open in early 2027.

Another 321 apartments above the retail space are under construction and are expected to be completed next spring, according to the developer.

Veridian already includes major employers and other developments, including Motorola Solutions, Zurich North America, The Boler Company, DR Horton and Topgolf.

"From the beginning, we envisioned Veridian as a place where people could live, work, gather, and enjoy their time together," Bob Burk, co-founder and managing partner of UrbanStreet Group, said in a statement.

Burk said Your 3rd Spot's emphasis on social experiences and hospitality fits the broader vision for the development.

UrbanStreet Group says the overall Veridian redevelopment represents about $1 billion in investment.

Your 3rd Spot expects the Schaumburg location to create more than 100 jobs once it opens.
