Your Guide To Holiday Happenings In Arlington Heights

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL —Sleigh bells will be ringing, carolers will be singing, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in town as Holiday Happenings gets underway on Friday. The Arlington Heights festival will run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Harmony Park, which is located at the corner of Campbell Street and Vail Avenue.

Amidst the fun and holiday festivities there will be horse-drawn trolley rides, carolers, food vendors providing sweet treats, a popcorn wagon, roasted almonds, hot chocolate and a petting zoo. Santa is expected to arrive on his firetruck sleight around 5:15 p.m.

"We even promise a 100% chance of snow just over Harmony Park," according to the village's website.

New this year there will be a "Wishful Linking" garland station where visitors can write down their "good cheer messages for themselves and our community of good neighbors." Each "link" includes a written wish and all the links will come together in creating a Wishful Linking garland that will adorn the holiday tree in Harmony Park, according to the village.

The village plans to add to the garland each year.
