AURORA, IL — Aurora is planning to host its first-ever citywide cleanup day April 25 throughout the city's 10 wards.
Although the event will last from 9 a.m. to noon, the city will kick it off at 8:30 a.m. with coffee, donuts and material pick-up for volunteers on the Water Street Mall, located in front of Aurora City Hall.
From there, volunteers will go to the designated cleanup location in their ward to begin the process of beautifying the community.
"This event is an exciting opportunity for residents and staff to come together, celebrate neighborhood pride, and make a lasting, meaningful impact across Aurora while helping build a cleaner, stronger, and more connected community," Community Engagement Manager Iliana Rivera-Núñez said in a statement.
Those interested in participating should sign up through the city's new volunteer portal, which allows locals to learn about and sign up for various opportunities.
