AURORA, IL — Three people were killed in a wrong-way crash over the weekend on Interstate 88, according to police.
The incident was reported around 4 a.m. Sunday and occurred on the westbound side of the road at milepost 112.25 in Aurora, state police said.
A vehicle was traveling east and hit another head-on, according to police, who said three people were killed. The striking vehicle was occupied solely by the driver, while there were two people in the vehicle that was hit, police said.
All lanes were closed during an investigation, but they have since reopened, according to police.
