Aurora Offering Up To $1,000 In Grants For Community Festival Planning

AURORA, IL — The City of Aurora is offering grants to help local organizations plan neighborhood festivals and events this summer.

Neighborhood Festival Funding Grants of up to $1,000 are available to groups planning public events that acquaint residents with one another and educate visitors about the city. The funding can be used for event support services, including equipment and table rentals, general liability insurance, security or emergency personnel and other needs.

Juneteenth and Dia De Los Muertos celebrations are among the community-based events that have received funding in the past.

Applications, along with eligibility requirements, selection criteria and information about the review process, are available on the city's website. Documents can also be picked up at the Community Services Department's Office, 44 E. Downer Place, and emailed to coanff@aurora.il.us once completed.

Staff will begin reviewing applications May 18 and continue on a rolling basis. The deadline to submit is July 31.
