AURORA, IL — Hours after police found two men shot Friday morning on Aurora's West Side, officers were called across town to investigate a second shooting, officials said.

Officers rendered aid, including applying a tourniquet, before Aurora Fire Department paramedics arrived to bring the man to a hospital.

Initial information indicated he may have been injured in a shooting that occurred in the surrounding neighborhood before seeking help at a nearby residence, where officers located him, according to a news release.

Detectives canvassed the neighborhood and reviewed surveillance footage. The investigation remains ongoing, but no suspects were in custody as of Friday afternoon.

Earlier Friday morning, at about 9:30 a.m., police found two men injured as a result of a shooting in the 2000 block of West Downer Place, Patch reported. Investigators believe the incident was targeted.
