AURORA, IL — Twenty-four events are planned Aug. 4 across Aurora for National Night Out.
The nationwide event, which occurs annually on the first Tuesday of August, brings together communities with the goal of strengthening relationships between residents, public safety personnel and city leaders.

Family-friendly and community-oriented events are scheduled across Aurora's 10 wards. They're put on in collaboration with Aurora's Community Engagement Division, which works with neighborhood leaders to create a schedule of robust programming.
Here is what's planned:
Ward 1
- Aurora Carrillon Lions Club, 1223 Barkston Lane. Event hours: 6-7:30 p.m.
- Northeast Community Group, 1600 Church Road. Event hours: 5-7 p.m.
- Pigeon Hill Neighbors, 825 Sheffer Road (Garfield Park). Event hours: 5-7:30 p.m.
Ward 2
- Aurora Regional Fire Museum, 53 N. Broadway. Event hours: 5-7 p.m.
- Lights of Sacred Heart, on State Street between Kane and Fulton streets. Event hours: 5-8 p.m.
- We Are United Restored, on Root Street between New York and Spring streets. Event hours: 5-8 p.m.
Ward 3
- Residents of Hometown, 1721 Town Center St. Event hours: 5-7 p.m.
Ward 4
- Bardwell Residences, 301 Weston Ave. Event hours: 4-6 p.m.
- Blackhawk Park Neighborhood, 1306 Winona Ave. Event hours: 4:30-7 p.m.
- Divine Providence Ministries, 402 Sherman Ave. Event hours: 4-6 p.m.
- New England Congregational Church, 230 Le Grande Blvd. Event hours: 5-6:30 p.m.
- Tomcat Neighbors, 1010 Lebanon St. (Lebanon Park). Event hours: 5-7 p.m.
