Residents with any information are urged to contact Aurora investigators by phone or email to assist the search.

Aurora mayor opposes automatic enrollment in health service tied to water bills (audacy.com) β Aurora's mayor is pushing back against a proposed Text-a-Physician program that would automatically add at least $18 to residential water bills every cycle unless customers opt out. He's urging the City Council to reject the plan unless enrollment is voluntary and is asking residents, including those on automatic payments, to weigh in through an online city poll.

Aurora police-involved fatal shooting deemed justified: State's Attorney (shawlocal.com) β Aurora residents are learning that Kane County prosecutors have ruled January's fatal police shooting of 27-year-old resident Temesgen Welendreyas justified, saying officers acted in self-defense after he advanced with a knife and fuel can. The Fox Valley Major Crimes Task Force investigated, and officials thanked Aurora police for cooperation while offering condolences to Welendreyas' family as the case is formally closed.

Naperville Police Arrests for Sept. 29-30 (chicagotribune.com) β Recent Naperville police reports include two separate arrests of 23-year-old Aurora men, one on a warrant in the 1300 block of Brittany Avenue and another tied to an issued firearm or FOID card. Additional incidents involved drug, theft, and battery charges across Naperville and nearby communities, offering a snapshot of late-September enforcement activity affecting Aurora residents.
