AURORA, IL — A large police presence gathered late Tuesday in the 200 block of Half Moon Circle for an "isolated criminal matter," officials said in an alert.
Aurora officers were dispatched at about 7:30 p.m. to the 500 block of West Galena Boulevard for an aggravated battery, spokesperson Jim Levicki told Patch.
One man was injured in the domestic incident, and he was treated at the scene, Levicki said. The suspect fled the scene.
The investigation brought police to a residence in the 200 block of Half Moon Circle. The block on Half Moon Circle was closed to traffic until about 1:40 a.m., when the road reopened but investigators remained on the scene.
In an alert on Facebook, police referred to the matter an "isolated incident involving individuals known to one another." As of early Wednesday, there was no known threat to the public, officials said on social media.
"Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and conducting additional follow-up," Levicki said.
