AURORA, IL — A Montgomery man was killed early Nov. 1 after a two-car crash on westbound Interstate 88 near Route 31 in North Aurora, the Kane County Coroner's Office said.
Reng Deng, 26, was standing outside of a car on the interstate when he was fatally hit around 4:47 a.m., according to the coroner and Illinois State Police.
The coroner's office conducted an autopsy Monday on the Montgomery man and determined his preliminary cause of death to be cranial cerebral injuries, according to a news release.
A second person was hospitalized with serious injuries after the crash, Illinois State Police said.
Deputy coroners were dispatched to Mercy Medical Center in Aurora to investigate Deng's cause and manner of death. Toxicology testing, per protocol, remains pending, officials said.
Illinois State Police said no additional information is available.
