Barrington Village President elected Illinois Municipal League President

Chicago, IL — The Illinois Municipal League (IML) elected new officers to lead the organization at its 103rd Annual Conference, which was held September 22-24 at the Hilton Chicago and attended by approximately 2,000 local elected and appointed local officials.
On Saturday, September 24, 2016, the IML membership elected Barrington Village President Karen Darch to serve a one-year term as president of the statewide organization’s board of directors. Mayor Darch was previously IML’s First Vice President.
Also elected during the conference were Mayor Mark Eckert of Belleville as First Vice President and Village President Gene Williams of Lynwood as Second Vice President.

“I am excited to assume the role of president. My time as IML First Vice President has prepared me for this position, and I look forward to serving in this expanded capacity,” Darch said.
