Barrington's Baseball Night Out at Boomers Stadium

The Barrington High School Baseball Booster Club rallied its community for the first “Barrington’s Baseball Night Out” held on Thursday, July 20 at Boomers Stadium in Schaumburg. The event attracted baseball coaches, players, families and supporters from around the area.

Head Coach of the Barrington High School Varsity Baseball program Patrick Wire and his family (Crystal Lake residents) were honored to throw out the first pitch of the game to Schaumburg Boomers Pitcher and 2009 Barrington High School Alumni, Rob McDonnell. The Barrington High School Varsity Baseball team recently won the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Mid Suburban League Championship and earlier this year in March won the Perfect Game Tournament Championship in Emory, Georgia.

Adding to the Barrington themed night was Lake Barrington resident Sierra Fermin, a Barrington High School Junior, vocal performer and popular YouTube singing artist, who sang the National Anthem to a crowd of thousands as the Schaumburg American Legion Color Guard presented the flags.

At the end of the 6^th inning, the two lucky attendees who each won a Schaumburg Boomers autographed team baseball were: McHenry resident Tim Rife, BHS Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach and Sterling Armstrong, BHS Sophomore Baseball Player and student who is from Lake Barrington.

The Barrington High School Baseball Booster Club is a not for profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to raise funds and facilitate programs which serve to improve the quality of the Barrington High School Baseball Program at all levels using the collective resources of the alumni, current and former player parents, the community and the coaching staff.
