Exhibit Highlights Lifetime Work of Award-Winning Photographer
An exhibit will be on display, Jan. 4 to Feb. 5, at the Gallery at Garlands.

Jerry Schoenherr bought his first camera in Germany while serving during WWII. Through photography, Schoenherr documented his travels across Europe and has taken hundreds of award-winning photographs over a lifetime.
An exhibit featuring 40 color prints by Schoenherr will be on display at The Gallery at The Garlands of Barrington Jan. 4 through Feb. 5, 2012. An artist’s reception will be held Friday, Jan. 6, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Gallery. The public is invited to the artist’s reception and the exhibit, which is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p. For over 30 years, Schoenherr, a chemical engineer, was in charge of film quality for Kodak Eastman. He was a member and onetime president of the Kodak Camera Club, the world’s largest.

Schoenherr has been recognized with numerous photography awards including: two-time winner of the George Eastman Medal for Best of Show in the Kodak international salon; two-time winner of the Color Print of the Year from the Photographic Society of America; five-time winner of the Kinsley Trophy from the Photographic Society of America; and over 200 medals with over 40 for Best of Show from exhibits in salons around the world. Schoenherr has judged, taught and given presentations on photography.
