"Is He Dead?" Theater Night Fundraiser 6/3 at the Theatre of Western Springs

Enjoy a thoroughly entertaining and charitable evening with the new production of acclaimed comedy "Is He Dead?" on Wednesday, June 3rd!

The DBE in Illinois announces their annual theatre event/fundraiser scheduled for 3 June 2015 at 8:00 pm at the Theatre of Western Springs, 4384 Hampton Ave, Western Springs, IL. Tickets are priced at $25 and provide the opportunity to enjoy a great evening of entertainment, while supporting the Cantata Home.

From the Theatre of Western Springs: The performance, “Is He Dead?” Is originally a play by Mark Twain, recently adapted by David Ives. It’s a very witty play revolving around the painter Jean-Francois Millet:

This hilarious comedy focuses on the real-life painter, Jean-Francois Millet. Though brilliant, he is in debt to a ruthless moneylender, and he can’t sell a painting to save his life (literally). Since only dead painters are successful, his cohort of Bohemian friends convince him to stage his own death and disguise himself as his twin sister in order to boost sales. Picture Huck Finn by way of “Some Like It Hot.” This is satire and farce colliding with hilarity in a zany comedy adapted for the contemporary stage by David Ives.
