Make a new holiday tradition at this fun and unique event!

Step back in history to a time of kings and queens, jesters and pageantry as the Barrington High School Madrigals invite you and your family to ring in the season with songs of the Renaissance and the holidays at the annual Barrington High School Madrigal Feast, to be held on Sunday November 20th at 4pm at Stonegate Center, 2401 West Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates. This festive event features over 30 students in period garb from the Barrington High School choir, who will regale guests with songs from the 14th to 17th century, festive holiday pieces, wit and revelry. To add to the merriment, a Silent Auction features items donated by Barrington Area businesses that are perfect for holiday giving, a goblet raffle and other events raise needed funds to benefit the choral program at Barrington High School. Tickets for the show and a three course dinner will be available on the BHS Fine Arts website www.barrington220.org/boxoffice from October 28th though November 12th and must be purchased in advance.

The Madrigal Feast has been a Barrington High School tradition for nearly 20 years. Started by Nancy Tobison nearly 20 years ago, the group is now in its second year under the direction of Robby Shellard, Director of Choirs at the High School. It features students from the award winning Barrington High School choir, which performed most recently at the Festival of Gold at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Los Angeles. The High School Madrigals will be performing throughout the month of December at various community events and locations, including the tree lighting ceremony and arrival of Santa in town and the Chamber of Commerce, with a final performance at Barrington’s White House on December 18th. Smaller groups are available for private events.
