About 300 people came to see the fireworks display at Barrington High School Sunday night. The show started shortly after 9 p.m. but people started gathering as early as 6:30 p.m. to get a good seat. The display was sponsored by Barrington Bank and Trust. Before the show began, the Scott Wesley Band entertained the crowd starting around 7 p.m. Todd Rhodes, owner of local business Grassroots, sponsored the band’s show.
Barrington resident Vicki Jarosch along with her two daughters, Erika and Maddie, and their neighbor Collins Quinn have attended the show at the school for 10 years. Jarosch said they came earlier this year because of the band.
Some in attendance came as far as Chicago. David and Laurie Fleischman came with friends because the fireworks were canceled as part of the Taste of Chicago.
