Victim Of Fatal Batavia Crash Identified As 36-Year-Old Man
Police say a Chicago man was found dead at the scene.

BATAVIA, IL -- Batavia police have released the identity of a man who was killed in a multi-car crash on Kirk Road Sunday evening. Police say Scott Meyers, 36, of the 3000 block of S. Throop was found deceased at the scene of the collision, which took place around 5:30 p.m. near the Kirk Road bike bridge.
Two juveniles were also injured in the collision, the cause of which is still not known, according to police.
A preliminary investigation shows that Meyers was driving a 2011 Toyota Rav 4 northbound when it collided with a 2005 Chevy Equinox that was driving south on Kirk Road.

The juvenile driver and passenger in the Equinox were taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
In the aftermath of the crash, police say a Saturn Aura and a Hyunda Veracruz collided with the Equinox and debris from the initial collision. No injuries were reported in these vehicles.

Batavia police say they extend their condolences to the family of Scott Meyers as the investigation into this fatal collision continues. At press time, no charges have been filed.
