Missing Girl, 16, Found: Batavia Police
The teenager was found in Sugar Grove at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
BATAVIA, IL — A 16-year-old girl who went missing from Batavia Nov. 16 was successfully located by police Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Batavia police said Taya Russell was found at a residence in Sugar Grove at about 6:30 p.m. She was missing for about two weeks.
"Batavia Police would like to thank the public for the numerous tips that were reported over the past couple of weeks," the department said in a statement Wednesday evening. "Batavia Police would also like to thank the Sugar Grove Police Department for assistance in safely locating the juvenile."
